Description
For sale my Citroen XM Break 3.0 V6 Auto from August 1992 with 118,000 real kms, located in Portugal, on Portuguese plates.
The Break was out of the read, dry stored in a garage, between 2008 and 2023, i.e. for approx. 15 years.
On 2023 I purchased the Break and had it fully recommissioned at a Citroën specialist garage in Portugal with more than 60 years of experience.
Following works were done:
The engine had to be removed from engine bay as one of head gaskets had rotted out due to lack of use. Engine was stripped with exception of block and all gaskets were replaced. While doing this the timing chain system was revised with new guides. Engine block, piston and piston rings, con-rod and crankshaft bearings were checked and left unaltered as they had absolutely no signs of wear. Engine and gear box bearings, distribution cap and rotor were obviously also replaced. There is photographic evidence of all the work carried out on the engine.
Bodywork and interior were only subject to detailed cleaning + polishing since they were in excellent condition as shown in the photos. Only the headliner had to be replaced with black fabric just like the original. All interior plastic parts and bezels (prone to crack due to age) in excellent conditioned, some headline surrounding bezels had to be replaced.
The Break has all period extras including automatic transmission, cruise control, electric sunroof, electric and heated seats (including heated rear seat) all of which work!
It has 4 new Continental tires mounted, an original Clarion Citroen radio with code, 2x ignition keys, instructions manual and service book with some stamps from previous ownership.
The Break has a Certificate of historical interest issued by the Portuguese Classic Car Club CPAA (equivalent to RAC) issued in September 2023 and is therefore road tax exempt.

- New steering rack gaiters
- New driveshaft gaiters
- Full hydraulic system recommissioning including all new hydraulic accumulators and height adjustment correctors overhaul
- New front brake discs + new brake pads all around
- Full cooling system recommissioning including new radiator cooler and water pump
- Cooling system analog improvement with temperature valve controlling the 2x fan speeds as the original ECU controlled tends to fail
- Full aircon system recommissioning with new compressor and new custom made hoses
- Full exhaust system recommissioning
- New cylinder head + block gasket sets and new timing chain guides
