Description
Classic Minis were built right up until the year 2000. This makes it one of the very last Minis. From carburetor to injection, and from extremely narrow to the wide “Sportspack.” The original Sportspack models are highly sought after, complete with wooden dashboard, extra gauges, and beautiful leather upholstery.
It’s clear: this Mini is exactly how you want to see them! Original and unspoiled. Delivered new in the Netherlands, only 79,600 km, and in a wonderful, original condition. Not surprising, as we bought the Mini from its first owner!
During the MOT inspection, it was noticed that the sills were no longer in the best condition. Immediate action was taken: not only the sills, but nearly the entire floor was fitted with new panels, perfectly shaped and professionally welded. Naturally, everything has been protected and treated against rust. I’ve already driven quite a few kilometers with it since, and it drives superbly!
The leather seats, finished with contrasting piping, are a perfect fit. As expected given the mileage, the seats are still in excellent condition. The mileage is, of course, fully guaranteed by the included NAP certificate and the original service book.
And what a joy the Mini is to drive! The light and direct steering is thanks to its low weight and low center of gravity. The short wheelbase and the wheels positioned at the very corners make it an agile car – it’s no surprise the Mini is often compared to a go-kart.
And just look at that interior… How simple and beautiful can it be! A lovely burr walnut dashboard, anthracite leather upholstery, the charming round gauges, and the aluminum door handles – delightful!
After the major floor restoration, the Mini of course received a new MOT inspection, which it passed without any remarks. Although some rust is visible on the outside, for example on the A-panels and at the bottom of the doors, the overall condition is very good. Naturally, photos of the underside are available, both before and after the restoration.
Are there no downsides, you might ask? Honestly, I can only think of one: like every classic Mini, this one leaks a little oil from the engine.
Classic Minis are becoming rarer and more expensive. There are few classics that give you more “value for money” than a Mini – pure driving fun!
Well, I could go on for hours, but it’s better if you come and see (and drive) it for yourself. You’re very welcome in Uden – the coffee is ready!
