Description
Jensen PW 12 - rare British car , The chassis file says the car was delivered to ‘Count F. d’Ansembourg, 8-10 (Jacquingasse) Vienna III Austria’ (the street name is missing on the file). The date of delivery is given as 21 July 1950, slightly at variance with that given in the Data Book. According to the chassis file, Count d’Ansembourg was Dutch and was posted to Siam from 5 February 1952 where he served as Minister Plenipotentiary at the Royal Netherlands Legation, 106 Wireless Road, Bangkok. His son Jan (also a Dutch diplomat, in 2003 the Netherlands Ambassador in London), confirmed that Francois d’Ansembourg had been Chief of Mission in Vienna 1946–50 and then Minister in Bangkok 1950–54 before returning to Europe to head the Dutch Mission in Prague. Jan d’Ansembourg was not certain whether the PW was taken to Bangkok but believed it was.
